Make time for Downtime
Busy schedule? Here is something else to add to the list- downtime! By physically blocking time in your calendar for yourself will help balance your life. You may also feel refreshed and limit the extra stress that can get your burnt out by the time the weekend approaches.
Know when to say No
Missing out on drinks with the girls one night in exchange for going to bed before 10 pm can be rewarding. Your friends will understand and you will feel relieved that one thing has been lifted off your plate. Don’t get me wrong, a night out with the girls is great but sometimes you need to know when to say no and take care of yourself first.
Disconnect
Make sure to take your time to yourself to its full extent. Don’t waste your few hours of downtime scrolling through your Instagram feed then realize your time is up! Simply disconnect yourself from social media, turn off your phone for an hour or two. Not only will you feel relaxed and content mentally, by disconnecting from technology your eyes will be thankful too! We spend hours looking at the computer screen and cell phone screen, your eyes need a rest too!
Leave your Work at the Office
Not only will leaving your work at the office help with your work-life balance, it will also ensure you are more successful when you’re in the office. Make your office your work space, when you get to work know you have tasks to do and a time frame to complete it by in order to leave without taking the work home.
Balancing it all takes time and practice before it becomes a habit. Work these tips into your lifestyle and you are on your way to successfully manage your work, time, and self-deserved relaxation.
